Right across from 35 Degrees Bar & Restaurant on Jl. Uluwatu II, Warung Mami is a compact, no-frills eatery serving seafood with an unapologetically local touch. The cooking space is snug; tables fill quickly when holiday crowds roll in.
From Kakap to Clams
On the menu, choices swing from kakap and shrimp to kerang bakar (grilled clams). Several visitors mention the clams as a highlight—deeply flavoured and paired with the house sambal matah, bright and refreshing with herbs. Plecing kangkung and cucumber salad appear alongside as common side dishes, balancing the smoky seafood.
Charcoal and Sambal
The grilling here is done over open charcoal, producing a moist interior on the fish. One diner called the Bali sambal sauce the “gem” of their meal. That said, occasional notes in reviews mention bits of fish coming out slightly burnt, and kerang that, on rare visits, felt less fresh.
Crowds, Queues, and Shade
Capacity is very limited. Local and out-of-town tourists from Java crowd in, sometimes pushing prices up. On busy days, expect a long queue, no dedicated waiting area, and plenty of time in the sun before being seated. Arriving early—as some did around 3 pm—can mean an empty shop and faster service.
Costs and Portions
Freshness and value come up often. One couple’s spread of fish, prawns, clams, vegetables, and rice cost 240 k, with many calling prices “cheap” outside peak season. Generous seasoning and simple plating keep the focus squarely on taste.
Looking Ahead
One regular noted the plan to relocate about ten blocks away, hinting at more space for diners. Until then, it remains a pocket-sized stop for charcoal-grilled seafood in the Jimbaran heat.
