Many guests enjoy the lounge and chill electronic tracks, calling the daytime vibe “very relaxing” and “peaceful”, but at least one visitor found the “very loud thumping music” turned a stunning setting into a less restful day. Smokers by the pool can also be an issue for those sensitive to smoke.

Opening hours and access

Standard hours are Sunday–Thursday 11h00–20h00, and Friday–Saturday 11h00–02h00 when it shifts into more of a night-time party space with clubbing and DJ events (Techno/House). Reaching Kabana from Ubud is relatively easy, but coming from Seminyak or Canggu can take 1h30+ and the last stretch of road is narrow.

Market analysis points to ongoing confusion around minimum spend policies, especially for daybeds and premium spots, with estimates around 500 000 IDR per person on some days. At the same time, many recent reviewers stress that when they came, there was no minimum spend and no entrance fee, and that towels were provided.

Prices are consistently described as higher than the Bali average but “very reasonable for the level of service” by some, and “expensive” by others who disliked not being allowed to bring their own water. Overall, most guests feel the setting, pools and attentive service justify the bill.

Food, cocktails and standout staff

Food is one of Kabana’s strongest cards. Diners frequently call dishes “fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented”, from seafood-heavy menus (octopus, trio tartare, tuna tataki, grilled king prawns, crab lasagne, Indian Slipper lobster, seafood fried rice) to chicken burritos and coconut crème brûlée. A few find some items average or in need of improvement, but the general impression is solid, restaurant-level cooking.

Cocktails like mojitos, long islands, espresso martinis and custom spritzes draw praise for balance and presentation.

Service is where Kabana really wins hearts. Names come up again and again—Tatik, Deva, Endra, Yuki, Dek Ayu, Candra, Andika, Ketut, Listya, Agus, Gdday, Dwika and others—described as kind, warm, efficient and generous with honeymoon surprises, cakes and little celebrations. One detailed review notes service inconsistency between two dinners, but even there calls the place “still a good place” with food as “the strongest side”.
