Air Panas Angseri: Rustic Hot Springs in the Hills
Lush hillside springs, little village vibe
Air Panas Angseri sits in the green slopes of Angseri, Baturiti, Tabanan, with hot pools tucked between jungle, rice fields and a small waterfall. Expect a simple, village-run bathing spot rather than a polished spa.
Public pools, private cabins, and a riverside tub
On site you’ll find two big pools, a small waterfall, several private pools and a tiny tub by the river that one visitor measured at around 39degrees. Reviewers describe most other pools as warm rather than truly hot, “like a heated swimming pool” (Google 2024), but many still find the water relaxing, especially when it rains. Private cabins are popular with couples and families; one review mentioned paying about 30 k for an hour, with an additional 10k for a towel.
Entry fees and what it actually costs
Pricing varies by who you are. One local visitor reported an entrance fee “just around 10 k/ local”, while another (likely tourist) mentioned paying 50k entry, calling it “not bad!”. Fees for private pools come on top of that. There’s no official website, so prices and any double tariff (local vs tourist) can change; bring small notes and don’t expect card payment (not specified). Two small warungs on-site serve cheap mi goreng, nasi goreng and Bali coffee.
Roads, stairs and that short walk in
Getting here means a drive along narrow country roads; one reviewer warned that blindly following Google Maps led them onto a “very dangerous small road” and suggested finding the bigger alternative road. From the parking area there’s roughly a 10 min walk with a fair number of stairs; some visitors say slippers were fine, others recommend proper shoes for climbing up and down.
Clean water, less-clean facilities
The appeal lies in the greenery, birds, occasional monkey sightings and a calm, very local atmosphere. At the same time, several reviews complain about changing rooms that “smell like a pee … ewww”, kotor and pesing, and lockers without keys, so you need to watch your belongings. Toilets sit near the entrance gate, but multiple comments ask for better kebersihan overall. Some travellers choose to arrive already in swimwear and wear modest bathers out of respect for locals.
Who will enjoy it most
This is a rustic, affordable hot spring (typically open 09h00–18h00) for backpackers, nature lovers and day-trippers who value jungle views, a waterfall pool and local warungs over spotless facilities and spa-level comfort.
