By day, The Goat hums with AFL, NRL, F1 and UFC on up to 19 screens across its two levels on Seminyak’s Eat Street. Come nightfall, the focus shifts—live bands from around 8pm, karaoke with a full backing band, and a crowd ready to sing into the early hours.
Many visitors (Google 2024) call it the liveliest Aussie-style pub in town: heavy on camaraderie, sound turned up, and as one TripAdvisor user put it, “worth it just for the atmosphere.”
Plates Built for Sharing
Meals here are rarely small. The ‘Greatest Mixed Grill of All Time’—sirloin, pork belly, wings, bacon, sausages and more—lands on tables the size of platters. Parmigianas draw raves for sheer scale, and pizzas like ‘The Works’ come thin-crusted with generous toppings. One Australian guest joked a single serve “could feed three,” while another swore the Triple Cheesy Pleasy burger “was the best anywhere.”
Veggie choices are limited; staff will tweak if you ask.
Drinks, Deals and Daylong Service
Bintangs arrive icy, buckets are priced for groups, and cocktails range from pub classics to one-off martinis mixed on request. Regular Instagram promos—like 24 chicken wings for 1,000 rupiah—keep locals and repeat travellers checking in. Service can be warm and attentive or, at peak hours, stretched thin.
One Tuesday, an American noted they got both an off-menu martini and MLB game coverage; on a busy Friday, another reviewer waited for orders and found staff “more into socialising with each other.”
Crowd and Comforts
Expect a strong Australian/Kiwi showing, especially during major games. Daytime leans family-friendly; after dark, it’s party mode.
Not everyone loves the openness—no air conditioning means the venue can be hot, and cigarette smoke from the terrace circulates indoors. Noise is high, by design. Parking on Jl. Kayu Aya is tight; scooters or rideshares work best.
Beyond the Barstool
The Goat runs twice-daily cocktail masterclasses (minimum two people), offers villa catering and BBQ packages, and can host big events. Delivery via GrabFood and GoFood is straightforward if you’d rather eat on your balcony than in the band’s front row.
When to Go
Arrive early for high-demand games or weekends—tables fill quickly. If live music is your draw, late evenings are key; if sport, check the schedule and book ahead. Portions, prices and the high-energy vibe suit those in groups, sports fans, and anyone who equates a great night with live riffs and a packed dance floor.
