Ayung Dewata Rafting: Long Runs and Lots of Stairs
Rafting above the jungle walls

Guides, safety and the river run
Guides come up again and again as the highlight: names like Ketut, Made, Sanju and Baluk are singled out for humour, clear safety briefings and handling families with kids aged 8–13 confidently. One first‑timer family even chose a private raft and felt it was “worth every extra penny” for the attention. Helmets and life jackets are standard, and some guides weave in stories about the area and the “120 years old cravings” along the canyon walls.
Waterfalls, pit stops and sales pitches
A typical run includes playful “bumps”, chances to swim in calmer sections, and at least one stop at a waterfall for photos. Most trips also pause at small riverside stalls, where drinks and snacks are available but “pricy for sure.” Opinions split here: some guests enjoy the break and optional drink, others dislike the feeling that “they want to sell you drinks and people beg you to sell them.” Professional photos and footage are offered at the end and widely described as very expensive.
After the river: stairs, showers and buffet
Post‑rafting, there is no escape from the climb back out: expect another 200–300 steps and a “very very tiresome” workout, especially after paddling. Back at base, most reviewers praise the smooth operation: showers and changing rooms “fine,” lockers easy, and a small Indonesian buffet with around 6–7 choices. Some call the food “incredibly delicious,” others “small buffet,” but overall value for money is rated highly.
